The 8-count is at the heart of Lindy Hop, as it includes some of the most iconic moves, such as the Swing Out. Because these patterns are longer and often involve more technique, they can be more challenging to learn. However, as most swing music is structured in 8-count phrases, many dancers find that 8-count patterns fit the music more naturally.
